Molenpad Café à Manger Venez boire jenever

Oh la la, the wonderful art of drinking jenever! The tulip-shaped glass is supposed to be filled to the brim and the first sip must be taken handsfree. That’s how the Dutchies make sure to get their money’s worth.

Cafe Het Molenpad bier De Eeuwige jeugd

In Amsterdam we treasure our no-nonsense attitude: act normal and keep two feet on the ground. But catch us eight kopstootjes later (‘tiny head-butts’, a mix of jenever (Dutch gin) and beer) and we will be dancing on the bar! Oh well, c’est la vie…

Location

Café het Molenpad

Prinsengracht 653
1016 HV Amsterdam

Molenpad is a narrow street connecting Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht. The Molenpad owes its name to the fact that in the distant past, standing on the Keizersgracht and looking through the Molenpad, you had a view of the mill on the former city wall.

Since decades, Café het Molenpad is famous among Amsterdammers. It is the place to be on the majestic Prinsengracht canal for lunch, drinks and dinner. The atmosphere is vibrant and what the Dutch call gezellig and the French joli.
The spacious terrace directly on the canal has no less than 50 seats!

Located just around the corner of the charming shopping area the Nine Streets, the dynamic Leidseplein and the authentic Jordaan area. In the heart of Amsterdam where all the magic happens.
